What to Expect at a Veterinary Appointment
Knowing what you should expect from your first veterinary appointment with us will make the process much more pleasant for both you and your pet.
We ask our clients to arrive at least 10 minutes early to their appointments to give them a chance to fill out our New Client Form. To save some time, you can complete the New Client Form online in advance.
Meet Your Veterinarian
A member of our team will review your pet's history and discuss their issues. You can ask any questions you want, and we'll dedicate time to answering them.
Examination, Diagnosis & Treatment
Once we have assessed your pet, we will provide you with a diagnosis and treatment options. Our veterinarians will work with you to determine the best treatment plan for you and your pet.
After your visit, we will create a detailed report of our diagnosis, the discussion we had with you, and your pet's treatment plan. We will keep this information on hand for whenever you need it.

- What end-of-life care services do you offer?
Your pet was your loyal companion, trusted confidant, and best friend throughout their entire life, during which time you provided unconditional love, protection, and care. Saying goodbye to them is difficult. We offer pet cremation service through Veterinary Hospitals Association.
Veterinary Hospitals Association (VHA) is a local not-for-profit association that has been supporting and serving the veterinary community with cremation services for over 35 years. You can trust that our compassionate cremation staff provides the highest amount of dignity and respect your beloved pet deserves so that you may begin to find peace following your final goodbyes. Our team monitors each pet with its own identification number throughout our entire multiple checkpoint system process. This assures the ashes returned to you are your pet’s ashes. Each pet's cremains are returned to your veterinary clinic in a respectful white box (if an urn is not desired) along with a personalized cremation certificate. We are honored to support our area veterinary clinics and pet owners with the highest level of compassion and care as we help pets’ make their final journey across The Rainbow Bridge. Know our thoughts are with you during this difficult time and know that we promise to take care of every cherished pet as if they were our own.
- How can I support animals in our community?
New Ulm Regional Veterinary Center partners with the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) to provide service to families in our community who are in need of veterinary care.
If you would like to help pets in the New Ulm area receive the care they need and deserve, considering donating to the AVMF Veterinary Care Charitable Fund. All donations stay local and help pets in need find care with us.
